Valentian has broken the vermouth mould – taking a totally different approach to production, using the Fruit of Italy and the Spirit of Scotland. Our vermouth has received an incredible response from bartenders and consumers alike with listings from the Scottish Borders all the way to the Shetland Isles.
Our company has recently completed a highly successful crowd-funding – smashing our fundraising target in less than a week of going public!
Now we’re hiring a Sales Executive & Brand Representative covering Glasgow & the West of Scotland. The successful candidate will be our first hire, at the forefront of our business as we grow our distribution and sales, host exciting activations and launch new expressions of Valentian Vermouth and more.
Our company has the ambition to be the vermouth brand of choice in the best bars, restaurants and retailers in Scotland and beyond, but we need help. This is an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual.
What will you be doing?
You will be the face of the brand and company in Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Your primary duties will include visiting accounts, following up sales leads in the on & off-trade, and building relationships with key customers and wholesalers. You will take ownership of supporting and growing sales within existing accounts, as well as identifying new business opportunities.
You will attend tradeshow, organise events & tastings in the on-trade, and arrange and host in-store tastings in key retailers. You will build a strong relationship with customers – training staff and updating them on Valentian’s latest innovations and releases. Providing and feeding back valuable insight into customer behaviour and trends is a key part of the role and will help shape sales strategy. There will be real scope for input into the business sales & marketing strategy and opportunities for creativity and collaboration with the founders.

- £28,000 per annum + OTE

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a dynamic, outgoing and engaging individual who thrives on building strong relationships. A willingness to get involved in many areas of a growing business and bring energy to projects is a necessity. The ideal candidate will have some of the following qualities:
- Experience working in a sales or hospitality environment (at least two years); preferably in the wine and spirits sector
- Excellent communications skills
- Relevant industry or academic qualification – preferably in a business related topic
- Numerate and commercially focused
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication skills, confident personality – demonstrable ability for building rapport and relationships
- High degree of self-motivation and time management skills
- Experienced and adept at social media
Please note this role requires a full UK driving licence (with no more than 6pts or previous bans), all offers will be subject to successful completion of a DVLA licence check. This is a field based role which will involve regular travel on an almost daily basis. Overnights may be required on occasion.
